[**Be very careful booking hotel rooms on all websites:  Some say, "no fee to  cancel" or similar, but the details may note that one or more night are,  "not refundable!"  Copy and print the cancelling rule page with date and time in case you need evidence.  Really the best policy is to do your research with the websites below but book with the hotel or airline Directly unless that website is offering a discount that is not available directly.  If you have time to call the hotel  and ask for an additional discount--it sometimes works because they will give you the commission that they have to pay to the website as a discount.  It will not work if the Website has already purchased in advance a block of rooms or plane seats they are trying to unload.  Different methods work at different times, places, websites and it's always changing back and forth--there is no one "right way" to do it. ]
